The Central Indiana Traning and Development Association has invited me to deliver a presentation at their upcoming networking event taking place Thursday, June 3, 2010 in Indianapolis, IN.

The association primarily focuses with training and development issues but non-members are welcome to attend this presentation to learn about what I have to share and participate in the special real-time networking I have planned for the group.

INDIANAPOLIS – Moving from the world of handshakes and business lunches to one full of tweets, “likes,” and status updates can seem to be an odd shift for those who believe social networking is best left to the under 25 set. That is until you read statistics such as 80 percent of companies use LinkedIn as a primary tool to find employees.

A June 3 event offered by the Central Indiana chapter of the American Society for Training and Development (CIASTD) will help ease people into the on-line world by looking at how to build stronger professional connections by applying real time networking skills in a virtual world.

“Today’s business environment requires the ability to smoothly move between the real world and the virtual world,” said Chris Kosovich of Kosovich Media Group, the evening’s presenter. “Fortunately, the skills you already possess can translate into a successful on-line experience. This ability opens the door to gaining access to a network of people and ideas, as well as learning valuable insights about emerging practices.”

The June 3 event is offered from 6:30 to 9 p.m. (presentation provided from 6:30 to approximately 7:30, followed by networking) at the Holiday Inn North at the Pyramids, 3850 DePauw Blvd., Indianapolis. Cost is $10 for CIASTD members and $15 for non-members.
